Wilkes News was put together when I had a hard time finding local news online. In this day and age it was just unacceptable. The major news paper in the county has a web site but doesn’t publish any of the content on line. The Record does have a site and does publish content online, but they have no RSS feed available. I wanted to be able to read the news in my news reader. So quite literally and honestly the site was born out of frustration. It’s powered by WordPress and some clever automation. Soon I hope to have my own search bot coded up that can find the stories.

Wilkes County North Carolina first and only 100% online news source. We collect, organize, and offer news relating to Wilkes County, Wilkesboro, North Wilkesboro, the Blue Ridge Mountains,The Yadkin Valley, and bordering counties. News is collected from all over and updated by the minute.

Sometimes it is hard to really know the candidates running in this election.  This is how I see it:  Elisabeth Motsinger is my kind of person!  When she sees a problem, she works to find a way to solve it.  For example:

When her husband became ill and died – leaving her a single mother of young children – she needed to better support them.  So, she went back to school to complete her education.  Now happily remarried, she still understands the needs of single parents.

When she became concerned with matters in the Winston Salem/Forsythe schools, she ran for School Board, and won – twice.

In 21 years as a physician’s assistant, she has seen it all.  She recognizes the healthcare needs of people of all ages and situations.

She values others.  Wanting to better understand how healthcare impacts all areas of life, Elisabeth Motsinger again returned to school, this time to study values – the impacts of ethics on medicine, business, politics, laws, education, and philosophy.

I want help in leveling the playing field.  I’m going to vote to elect Elisabeth Motsingers as my 5th District Congressman.
