Appalachian included in Kiplinger magazine’s 100 Best Values listing

BOONE—Appalachian State University has once again been included in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine’s “100 Best Values in Public Colleges.”
In the February 2007 listing, Appalachian ranks 31st in terms of in-state costs. Last year, the university ranked 33rd in terms of in-state costs.

Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration ceremony features leader of civil rights movement

BOONE—Civil rights activist Rev. Joseph E. Lowery will present the program “Civil Rights: Then and Now” Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. in Appalachian State University’s Farthing Auditorium. Admission is free.
