Coast Guard Academy visit

Amanda Robinson, of Statesville, completed the U.S. Coast Guard Academy’s introduction program. The program offers the opportunity for rising high school seniors to visit the academy for one week during the summer.She attends North Iredell High School and is the daughter of Nan and Mike Robinson of Statesville.

Prevette joins the National Guard

Alisha Marie Prevette of Statesville has enlisted in the N.C. Army National Guard.

She will be assigned to the 285th Engineer Detachment at the National Guard Armory in Mooresville after completing basic military training in October, where she will work as a general construction equipment operator with the rank of private first class. Read more
