Man convicted for role in drug ring

Jurors in U.S. District Court in Statesville has convicted a 27-year-old man, already awaiting trial on murder charges, for his role in a widespread Iredell County drug network.
The jury deliberated for about two hours Thursday before convicting Travis Doran Ramseur of conspiring to sell cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana in Iredell County from 1999 through May 2006.
His co-defendant in both the federal case and the state murder case, Al Antonio Bellamy, 24, pleaded guilty to conspiracy Aug. 8. Neither has been sentenced, but Ramseur faces the possibility of life in prison on the federal conviction. Read more
