Man fibs to investigators, lands in jail

If you're mad at someone, don't make up a story about him to police.
A Mooresville man landed in jail over the weekend after Iredell County sheriff's investigators say he did just that.
Roger Dale Elder, 50, of 134 Copperhead Road, was arrested and charged with one count each of perjury, filing a false report and misuse of the 911 emergency system.
Last Wednesday, Elder called 911 to report being hit on the head by another man, Sheriff Phil Redmond said in a news release. Elder later admitted making up the story, the sheriff said. Read more
