John Bush never wanted the high school driver who struck and killed his wife in a Morrison Plantation crosswalk to go to jail.
He wanted her to admit what she’d done and make good of herself in life.
Friday was ‘step one, a big plus,’ Bush told me, hours after Kristina Lawson pleaded guilty to reckless driving in the September 2006 death of his wife, Janet Bush.
Bush, 56, lived in the development and was crossing Morrison Plantation Parkway at Plantation Ridge Drive when she was struck. Lawson, 17 at the time, was on her way to Lake Norman High School in a white BMW, according to court testimony. Read more
