A Wilkesboro man faces sentencing this week after he admitted to his role in a pair of robberies in Connecticut. 51-year old Donald Frazier pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery in a crime his younger brother, 44-year old Troy Frazier, received a sentence of 20-years in prison for Friday. The younger Frazier, who had moved to Connecticut, was told he’d have to serve four years of the sentence, then would be on probation for five years.
The brothers reached a plea deal admitting they robbed a U-Haul Store in Bridgeport, Connecticut last August. According to court documents, one of them stood by the door while the other pointed a handgun at the clerk. When the clerk didn’t react to his demands quickly enough, he was hit on the head with the gun. Troy Frazier also admitted robbing Best Western Hotel in Fairfield, Connecticut in May of last year. Frazier ran into the hotel, jumped over the counter, and demanded a female employee hand over the money.
After the U-Haul robbery, an arriving employee saw the two leave, and followed them while calling 9-1-1. Some time before police caught up to the two vehicles, Donald Frazier leaned out a window and started firing the pistol at the pursuing employee. The brothers then crashed into another car, bailed out and ran, but police caught them soon after.
