Foxx: AIG Bonus Bill Goes About Recovery Wrong

Fifth District Representative Virginia Foxx cast a vote on two separate AIG bonus measures before Congress yesterday. She voted to consider a measure to return 100 percent of AIG millionaire bonuses to taxpayers and in opposition to a measure that tries to recapture the bonuses in an unconstitutional fashion (known as a bill of attainder). In video provided by her office, Foxx had this to say:
Foxx is also a co-sponsor of the Executive Bonus Repeal Act, which will “claw back” 100 percent of the recent AIG millionaire bonuses. She went on to say that the Republican-sponsored bill, whcih would get back the bonuses in a Constitutional manner, is not being allowed by the Democratic leadership to come up for a vote.
