Tyson Foods says there may be some fraudulent paychecks out there.
The company wasn’t specific in their news release, but says there are things that banks and businesses can look for on the checks that verify their authenticity. First, they say the checks are only issued on two specific types of paper and each of those has security features. There’s a heat sensitive red Tyson seal on one that if you put your thumb on the check, making the seal warm, the seal disappears for a few seconds. On the second, the ink changes color with heat. Both types of checks are marked that they are affected by heat. Tyson says those cashing the checks should only do so once they have verified that it is a real pay check. Tyson says its working with police in each of the communities where it’s employees are located to solve the problem.
If a business in your community comes across what they believe is a fraudulent Tyson payroll check, we encourage them to contact local law enforcement or Tyson Global Security with any questions at 1-800-643-3410.
