Boone Police Chief Bill Post is stepping down at the end of July after 21 years leading the Boone police force.

Town of Boone officials told citizens during the June 23 meeting that, if the project was approved, the pump station located off Brownwood Road would be designed to look like a barn-complete with a barn quilt-set back from the river, helping ease aesthetic concerns.

July has the Fourth, but Friday has the First. The Downtown Boone Art Crawl hits the streets July 2. Scheduled for the Friday of each month, the Art Crawl sees area galleries and businesses open their doors in celebration of art, community and a combination of the two, oftentimes served alongside refreshments.
