The National Right to Life PAC announced their endorsement of Congresswoman Virginia Foxx in her bid for reelection to North Carolina’s Fifth Congressional District. National Right to Life PAC Executive Director David O’Steen commended Congresswoman Foxx for her 100 percent pro-life voting record during the entire 110th Congress. Dr. O’Steen added, “Virginia Foxx’s strong pro-life record has earned her the support of all voters who are concerned with the right to life and the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family. This endorsement is the most recent in a number of endorsements received by Congresswoman Virginia Foxx in her campaign for reelection this year.
Wilkes deputies are looking for a 32-year old North WIlkesboro man who allegedly stabbed an acquaintance outside a third person’s home this weekend. Joseph Carter is sought on a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, following the stabbing Friday evening. deputies learned of the incident when they were called to Hugh Chatham hospital by medical personnel caring for 27-year old Elkin resident Joel Spicer. He told deputies he had gone to a friend’s house on Grace Howard road in Roaring River about 7:30 Friday night, and as he was getting out of his car he was confronted by Carter. He said Carter pushed him and the two began to fight. According to deputies, Spicer received seven stab wounds, each ranging from 6 to 10 inches long, and all located in his abdomen and side. Spicer’s current condition is unknown. A warrant has been taken out in the case, and the investigation is listed as inactive pending service of the warrant on Carter.
